The day our lives changed forever, Saturday May 4, 2019 ❤
Freyja Helen Marie Pepper, magically made her entrance at 11:38 am. Weighing 7lbs 2oz and measuring 19 inches. Powerful contractions started at 6:30 am and by 8:30 am we decided it was time to head to the hospital. After what felt like the longest most painful one hour drive, we made it to the hospital in London. At five centimetres dilated when we reached the hospital we were hurried into the birthing room. I decided I wanted an epidural, however we are not actually sure if it took because my water broke at 10:20 am before they even administered it and I definitely felt everything.
After what seemed like an eternity of pushing, a cry rang out and the nurse exclaimed, “Well dad, what do we have?” Chris announced, “We have a GIRL!” Laying skin to skin, with my baby girl for the first time was truly the most marvellous feeling in the world.
The staff at London Health Sciences Centre, were absolutely amazing and I definitely would not have made it through delivery without my lovely nurse. Who kept me calm, focused, and constantly told me I was doing a good job.
Everyday since Freyja’s arrival has been a whirlwind, filled with a new kind of love. Somedays we just sit and stare at her for hours, hardly believing that she is here and that she is ours.
